Rules for #manila channel:
1: Limit Repeat Text.
Back / Home
There is no need to repeat your text over and over, it
is very annoying and we all saw it the first time.
2: No Bad Swearing.
Try not to swear where possible, #manila is a family channel for all ages.
3: No Unsuitable Nicks.
Bad language / Sales / Marketing / Prostitution etc included in nicknames
and usernames are not welcome on #manila
4: No Automated Scripts.
Only operators of #manila can run auto scripts.
The following are prohibited by general users on #manila.
Script run auto greets / stats / games / seen / news / spam / netsplit / ping etc.
5: No Excessive Caps.
Writing entirely in BLOCK CAPITALS (CAPS) is shouting, and it is rude, so
best not to do it unless you want a rest from the channel.
6: No Religious Preaching or Political Campaigning.
Do not push others to follow your beliefs or political preferences
while on #manila.
7: No Harassment or Threats of Violence.
Cyber-harassment is not just about being teased, it is repeated behaviour that
is designed to humiliate, control, hurt or scare the person being targeted. It is not
legal, and it is not OK.
8: No CyberBullying.
Cyberbullying is the use of electronic communications to bully
a person. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative,
harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing
personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or
humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior.
9: No Sexual Harassment.
Sexual harassment is an unwelcome sexual advance, unwelcome
request for sexual favours or other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature
which makes a person feel offended, humiliated and/or intimidated, where
a reasonable person would anticipate that reaction in the circumstances.
10: Clones are limited to two unless it is an internet cafe.
Clones are multiple connections to DALnet by one individual, often
using specialized software to accomplish this. Clones are often used as tools
to fill, flood or disrupt a channel.
11: No Flooding.
Flooding is sending large amounts of text to the channel to make
the channel unusuable.
12: No Advertising.
Unsolicited/Mass Advertising as per DALnet's Mass Advertising Policy.
All of the following will not be tolerated on #manila.
Messaging users to join channels, visit web sites, go to other IRC
networks, etc. /invite -ing users to channels. On-join messaging of users to
join channels, visit web sites, or go to other IRC networks, also know as "autogreet".
Excessive use of /quit messages to advertise channels, web sites, IRC servers, scripts, etc.
Use of IRC commands such as CTCP to advertise or invite. Unsolicited email to network
mailing lists, the purpose of said email which is to advertise web sites, software,
channels, other IRC networks, etc.
All mass advertising detected by the channel bots and
channel operators in #manila will be forwarded to DALnet's staff for further action.
The staff of #manila welcome everyone to chat and reside on #manila for a fun time.
Occasionally there will be rudeness, offensive language and or spam messages sent to you in private.
If this is happening to you, please type and enter /ignore nick (nick being the nick of the one harassing you).
For extreme harassment please contact an active channel operator (those with an @ before their nick).
